Young Astronauts Club
Welcome to Young Astronauts Club.
Okatie Elementary Young Astronauts
The Okatie Elementary Young Astronauts Club is open to any
fourth grade student. As a member of the club, students will
have an opportunity to participate in stimulating activities
focusing on the principles of flight and space exploration.
Some exciting events include our paper airplane contest, egg
drop, and making mock space shuttles. The club plans an
overnight adventure trip to the Kennedy Space Center at
Cape Canaveral, Florida on February 9th and 10th. All club
meetings will be held on Tuesday mornings from 7:15-7:45
starting in October 4th and ending in February 21st . The
club meeting dates will correlate with the space and
astronomy unit that is done in the classroom. All children
participating in the club will pledge to improve their grades in
science and math. This is an exciting and adventurous
program that will engage children through science and space
technology. As a member of the Young Astronauts Club, the
students pledge to:
Improve their grades in science, mathematics, and
Learn about space, aeronautics, and principles of
Earn their WINGS.
Be respectful and responsible in and out.
Complete ALL Young Astronaut projects and
participate in all activities.
Follow classroom and school rules.
