First Grade
Ms. Beth Fries: I have my Bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and I am a highly qualified reading teacher. My hobbies include spending time with family, swimming, and gardening.
Mr. Charlie Belavic: I have a bachelor’s degree from the Slippery Rock University in Early Childhood/Special Education. I enjoy playing the guitar and have been playing since I was 11 years old. I love exercising and playing video games with my friends. I also love to cook!
Ms. April Helton: I have taught for 17 years, 12 of which have been in first grade. My husband and I have three children, Ava, Maisie and Sawyer. We moved here from Sevierville, Tennessee. I love to read, take trips to the beach and spend time with my family.
Ms. Erica Larson: This will be my seventh year teaching first grade and my first year at Okatie Elementary. I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Clemson University and a master’s degree in Education from North Greenville University. I recently moved back home after living in Greenville, South Carolina. I am so excited to be back in the Lowcountry closer to my family and the beach!
Mrs. Dana Tirado: I received my Early Childhood degree, Masters in Education, and certificate for GATE at Azusa Pacific University. My hobbies are reading, hiking, biking, and paddle boarding.
